Údarás na Gaeltachta have set aside €0.25m for upgrading work at the Industrial Estate in Cama. There have been many complaints about the state of the place in recent years and requests that the Údarás tidy it up.
Councillor Seosamh Ó Cuaig, who is also a member of the Údarás na Gaeltachta Board, said he hoped that the money that had been budgeted would now be spent at an early date and that the estate would be far better and more attractive as a resuit.
The factory where the Nivektron company once were in business stili lies idle on the Estate. While there is some activity in the new Enterprise Centre there has been littie in the way of new enterprise as Údarás na Gaeltachta struggle to bring jobs to west Connemara.
