Cúrsai na mara le plé ag an gComhairle
Tá scéala faighte ag an gComhairleoir Contae, Seosamh Ó Cuaig go mbeidh cúrsai thionscal na mara á bplé ag an gcéad chruinniú eile de Chomhairle Chontae na Gaillimhe - sin roimh dheireadh na míosa seo. Is cosúil gurb é seo an ehéad uair ag an gComhairle Contae - le cuimhne na ndaoine - cúrsai mara, cladai agus jascaireaclita a phie go foirmeálta. Tá an diospóireact seo á tarraingt ar larratas ón gComhairleoir Ó Cuaig. Táthar ag súil freisin go ndéanfar socrú ag an gcruinniú seo faoi chuairt a thabharfaidh Comhairleoirí as taobh thoir de Ghaillimh ar ionaid a bhaineann leis an bhfarraige ar chosta Chonamara. Bheadh cuairt ar chalafort Ros a' Mhíl, monarcha na feamainne gCill Chiaráin agus ar ionad taighde Oliseoil na Gaillimhe i gCarna ar chlár an lae sin. Tathar ag súil freisin gur féidir turas a eagrú chomh fada leis an inneail trialach atá feistithe i gCuan na Gaillimhe - amach ó chósta an Spidéil. Táthar ag iarraidh meabhair a fháil ar ghiniúint chumhaehta as cumhacht na maidhmeanna as an inneali seo. Mairtin O Cathain - Foinse - 18 Márta 2007 |
FISHING AND MARINE
Galway County Council is to hold a debate on fishing and the marine industry at its meeting next Monday. The debate is being held at tbe request of Councillor Seosamh Ó Cuaig. It appears this may the first time in decades that Galway County Council has beld a debate about matters relating to the sea. "I think its high timed", Councillor Ó Cuaig said. "It's an important industry in this county. We must also remember that issues such as wind and wave power are coming more and more to the fore now." It has also been agreed that Councillors will make a tnp to Connemara later in the year and get a first band look at what goes on in the shores and bays. Cúradh Chonnachtach 23 Márta 2007 |
