Broadband Services
Councillor Seosamh Ó Cuaig again raised questions about the availability of broadband services in Connemara and in the west of Ireland at this weeks meeting of the West Regional Authority.
Councillor Ó Cuaig said it is very important that all areas of Connemara are provided with a service when the new national broadband plan comes up. The Government has promised to extend broadband throughout the country.
"There is always a danger that pockets in country areas will be left out in these plans," Councillor Ó Cuaig said.
He proposed that a deputation from the West Regional Authority should look for a meeting with the new Communications Minister, Éamon Ryan. This was seconded by Councillor Tom Costelloe from Galway and was agreed.
