The new draft Galway County Development Plan contains a proposal that a plan should be drawn up for North Connemara. This was proposed by Councillor Seosamh Ó Cuaig and seconded by Seán Ó Tuairisg.

Councillor Ó Cuaig said that this plan should take in the non-Gaeltacht areas in Connemara. Councillor Ó Cuaig has also proposed that an Aird Mhóir - halfway between Cama and Cill Chiaráin - shouid be given the status of a "Settiement Centre". This would give it village status.
