Councillor Seosamh Ó Cuaig has confirmed that contractors have been appointed to do the work on three local water
schemes in Connemara. John Gannon Contractors of Galway have been selected by Galway County Council to do the work
on the Dawros scheme in Letterfrack and on the Letterard sehemes in Carna.
Connaughton and Mangan Contractors of Roscommon have been selected to do the work on the local scheme in Cashel.
The Cashel and Letterard schemes will become part of the major Ciii Chiaráin/Carna Water scheme which bas been completed at a cost of €18.4m. The scheme in Dawros in Letterfrack will be linked to the public scheme in that area.
"I understand the schemes will be getting going inside a month," Councillor Ó Cuaig said.
