Signs stamps village on the map

Galway County Council have put up notice board type signs close to Carna crossroads in order to show people who do not know the place that the village is nearby.

The village cannot be seen from the crossroads which is down in a hollow. The signs have been put there following a campaign by Coiste Gnímh Shráidbhaile Charna - the Carna Village Action committee.

The signs have been paid for by money secured by Councillor Seosamh Ó Cuaig. The village action committee is continuing its efforts to have further improvements in the village.

Some footpaths have been made but the committee point out that much more is needed and that improvement works bemg carried out by the County Council are being done in bits and pieces over many years.
